Artists’ Statement
I draw and paint from the landscape, figure and still-life in oils, watercolour, pastel and charcoal. I am looking forward, now that I am about to have a studio again, to getting back to larger figure compositions and narrative painting. In addition, I will be returning to some mosaic making. My work is focused on making a ‘form’ and I am influenced by David Bomberg’s ideas of the ‘Spirit in the Mass ‘, as transmitted by friend and mentor, Miles Richmond. I also teach in adult education, at present in Kirkby near Stokesley
