Artists’ Statement
My work focuses on reimagining textiles that might otherwise be discarded, exploring the deep connection we have to materials, and honoring their unique histories. I work with everything from second-hand fabrics to natural fibres sourced locally from nature around us, driven by a desire to give these materials new life. Growing up on a farm, I’ve always felt a strong connection to nature, and it’s this relationship that inspires my art. I use nature as the foundation of my work, blending traditional techniques with modern methods to create pieces that reflect both the past and the future.

Textiles, to me, are more than just fabric—they are carriers of stories, memories, and energy. Through my art, I strive to breathe new life into these materials, giving them purpose and meaning once again. Whether it’s repurposing abandoned festival tents, as I did in my collaboration with Leeds Fest, or using, developing & working with sheep’s wool in a project I’m planning for 2025, I’m constantly looking for innovative ways to tell stories through fabric.

I’m excited to continue pushing the boundaries of textile art, experimenting with new techniques, and finding fresh ways to celebrate the materials I work with. My practice is about sustainability, creativity, and the ongoing journey of transformation.
